Catalan National Art Museum is housed by a magnificent palace which lies above the fountains of Montjuic. It is ranked by many as the best museum in Barcelona and worth a visit indeed. Here are presented works of art Catalan Romanian Gothic Renaissance and the centuries of the XI century and the eighteenth century.

The museum is very interesting to see but you can take a long visit as very high. NMCA expose all forms of art, sculpture, paintings, art objects, drawings, prints, and photography and numismatics collection. The main objective of the museum is to detail the history of Catalan art general, the Romanesque period up to mid-century.

At NMCA are exposed works of great painters such as El Greco, Rubens, Zurbaran, Velazquez and Cranach. The museum treats all forms of art and as expected insist on Catalan artists.

Tickets:
Normal ticket: 8.5 € - valid for 2 days for the entire museum collections including temporary, includes audio guide in seven foreign languages.

Free for those under 15. Between 15 and 21 years shall be reduced by 30%. The same discount applies for families (two adults and one child).

Tuesday - Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Sundays and public holidays: 10:00 to 2:30 p.m.
Monday: closed except for holidays.
Closed: January 1, May 1, 25 December

On the first Sunday of each month admission is free.
