Rila Monastery

It is the most visited monastery in Bulgaria. The church is located at 117 km from Sofia and 40 km from Blagoevgrad .

Rila Monastery is situated at an altitude of 2729 meters on top Malyovitsa . Construction of the monastery began in the 10th century , but over time it has undergone many changes. Its current appearance dates from the 19th century .

Monastery land is spread over an area of 8800 square meters, enough room so you to walk and enjoy nature in silence .


Belogradchik Rocks

Belogradchik Rocks are composed of sand and conglomerate rocks from the Triassic period . They are spread over a distance of 30 km in length , at a distance of 4 km from the town of Belogradchik .

In the same area you can discover Belogradchik Fortress , built by the Turks on the remains of the Roman fortress .


Tsarevets Fortress

Tsarevets Fortress is one of the most attractive tourist spots in Bulgaria, Veliko Turnovo city more precisely . Here you will discover the city walls , towers, ruins of the royal palace and the patriarchal church .

Tsarevets was the city of the kings of Bulgaria and the area is kept in good shape even during this period.


The Seven Rila Lakes

Lakes of Rila Mountains are the most visited places in the area. They are named according to their shape, as follows:

- Lake Salz (tear) is at the highest altitude (2535 m) and has a depth of 4.5 m
- Lake Okoto (eye) is at an altitude of 2440 m and has a depth of 37.5 m
- Lake Babreka (kidneys) is at an altitude of 2282 m and has a depth of 28 m
- Lake Bliznaka (twins) is at an altitude of 2243 m and has a depth of 27.5 m
- Lake Trilistnika (three-lobed) lies at an altitude of 2440 m and has a depth of 37.5 m
- Lake Kompas (above) is at an altitude of 2,184 m and has a depth of 2.5 m
- Lake Dolnoto (bottom) is at an altitude of 2095 m and has a depth of 11 m
