Located in Atlanta, Georgia, The Georgia Aquarium houses more than 120,000 animals from over 500 different species. Aquarium tanks containing 32,000 cubic meters of water (8.5 million US-gallons) and are built on an area of 8.1 hectares (20 acres) in the northern center of Centennial Olympic Park.

The aquarium is composed of several different pools biotopes, from rivers to seas of the tropics, and oceans. When you visit the largest aquarium in the world you are faced with the riches both freshwater and marine.

The Ocean Voyager gallery, you will find whale sharks, the largest fish in the world, it is the only place outside Asia where you can find such specimens. The huge pool contains 24,000 cubic meters of water (6.3 million US-gallons) and has an underwater tunnel 30 meters long (100 feet). The aquarium is actually designed around exhibition of whale sharks.

The gallery's Pacific Cold Water, you can admire the white whales and seals. Two white whales, also known as Beluga, have been returned from a Mexican amusement park. Along with them you will see Black-footed Penguins, Japanese spider crabs and sea otters.
In the River Scout gallery, depict a natural environment of a river with waterfalls, as the name suggests. Here you will find otters from Asia.
In the Dolphins Tales gallery, besides exhibition takes place shows with dolphins, 20-30 minutes.

In the Georgia Explorer gallery, designed to present fauna of the Georgia coast and all its riches, in several basins interactive, you can see stingrays, starfish and turtles. Some of these are subject to a rehabilitation program and be released into the sea near future.

In the Tropical Diver gallery you can enjoy the aquarium with one of the largest collections of coral reefs found in the world. Here you can admire a ballet of colorful fish, shrimps, lobsters and thousands of jellyfish. In addition, in the Georgia Aquarium you will discover sea horses, sea mammals and fish of all kinds, boa snakes, alligators and piranhas. Virtual presentation spaces are also part of the aquarium, so that the public can see species which they cannot live in ponds and pools because of their size.

Visit to the aquarium can be done in several ways. You can choose to "normal", or if you want something special, this is the only aquarium in the world offering to its visitors the chance to swim with whale sharks. Another program, "Behind the Scenes Tour" offers a top view of the river and the chance to see the work teams who care for animals.
