Dar es Salaam

Largest city of Dar es Salaam is Tanzania's main city of tourism in mind, since there is the most connections. It is a mixture of African, Arab and Indian culture. The name of Dar es Salaam comes from the Arabic language, and means broadly, turning "a peaceful harbor" which admittedly might not now describe the city. This day in Dar es Salaam is a noisy and paced, but still offers a compelling view of urban African life.-b-
Visit Tanzania's largest market place, Kariakoo Market, which is bursting with exotic products and specialty food. Check out the condition of the rhythm of one of the Dar es Salaam in the night's clubs - just guarantee you'll meet locals. And the city's northern and southern part of the beach offers small villages, where you can camp directly on the beach.

Northern Tanzania: Nature, wildlife and mountain hiking

The northern part of Tanzania, you will find something that many think is the essence of Africa. In the northern part is in fact almost invincible number of wildlife and untouched nature. There are many different levels of trails, and can either stay in mountain huts or tents. The climb up to the top is a demanding performance, but the prize is the highest point in Africa to achieve.

Also, the safari can be reached in Northern Tanzania. Less well known in Arusha National Park is a good alternative to the Serengeti . Arusha is 137 square kilometers wide and is located between Kilimanjaro and Mountain Meru. Height differences due to the diversity of terrain, or swamps, savannas and forests inhabited by abundant fauna and flora. Some of the finest places in Ngorongoro Crater, Lake and Mt Meru Momelan, National Park, Kilimanjaro is a good option.

Another alternative could be a safari in Lake Manyara National Park, where you can see also hordes of hippos and flamingos. Lake Manyara is also known for its tree climbing lions, they spend most of their day in acacia trees. In safari you can either stay in tents or cabins. Inhabited by millions of flamingos in Lake soda is a great nature site too!

Western Tanzania

Western Tanzania, the most interesting place is Gombe Stream National Park , where it is possible to see the chimpanzees. The park is located near the Burundi border, Lake Tanganiykan waterfront and is accessible only by boat. The location is almost in the middle of the African continent.
Many are familiar with the story of Jane Goodall, who from the 1960s has examined the behavior of chimpanzees. Gomben Research Centre is named after him. If you're lucky, you might even meet a female chimpanzee Fifin, which was only three years old when Jane Goodall began their project. Fifi is the only surviving of the original group of chimpanzees.
It is an insane experience to meet Gomben chimpanzees. Human and chimpanzee genes for 98% percent is the same, so it's nice to see the near distant cousins. Besides chimpanzees you can also spot baboons and other various types of monkeys. Park also has more than 200 different species of birds, so you're never alone in the woods!
Trip does not ensure that you meet the chimpanzees, but if you lucky, you'll see monkey friends in their own environment. You can camp out in cabins (lodges), in a tent on the beach or campsite.
Near the Zambian border Lake Tanganiyka is a massive waterfall Kalambon. It is 235 meters high, and the second highest waterfall in Africa. You can combine the interaction with Kalambo with a visit to Katavi National Park, which is one of the least visited parks. 4000 square kilometers, the park can be yours alone, so there's a good chance to see animals. Katavi has deltas, so there you can also see many hippos, elephants and crocodiles.

Zanzibar

Zanzibar, we recommend the journey from the beginning to end. The island is located in the capital Dar es Salaam, next to the coast. Zanzibar is known for its beautiful beaches and snorkeling . The island's largest city, Stone Town is a mixture of Arabic, European and Indian architecture. It does seem as if a thousand and one night in a story ... you can find the old Sultan of Zanzibar in the spa, which resembles harem times.
