"Scandinavia is a wrong term for northern European countries"

TRUE
Neither Iceland nor Finland is Scandinavian. Initially it was only the Scandinavian peninsulas located in Norway and Sweden. But culturally speaking, Denmark is among them. Finland has self called Scandinavian because of Swedish domination (1154-1809). That is why many Finns are intrigued to be called "Scandinavian". Nordic countries are Finland, Iceland, the three Scandinavian countries, autonomous region of Greenland and Alandisel.
