"Sahara is the largest sand desert"

With an area of 8.7 million square kilometers, Sahara is indeed the largest desert in the world, although it is mostly rocks, and to a lesser extent of sand. The largest sand desert in the world is Arabian Desert or Rub-al-Chala, of south-eastern Arabian Peninsula. It covers an area of 780,000 square kilometers and has sand dunes up to 300 meters tall, is one of the inaccessible areas of the world. Taking into consideration all Arabic desserts, it ranks the third place among the largest desert area after the Sahara Desert and the Great Australian Desert.
