"Rickshaw came from China"
Two-wheeled carriage, pulled by man, so typical, was invented in Japan in 1870 by an American priest for his sick wife. Interest was so great that Reverend increased production, providing to its parishioners a profitable job. The name was originally "jinrikisha" which means "vehicle based on human power", while the rickshaw is only "vehicle". Basically, the vehicle has spread from Japan throughout the South Asia.
