"Prophets were predictors"
Many prophets in the Bible really predict disaster. Those have not been always come true. The inhabitants of Nineveh had changed their life, but foretold the destruction by John did not take place. Instead prophets as Aron did not do any prediction. Prophets were not seen as predictors or fortune tellers, but as messengers and interpreters of the divine will. Were preachers or people who warn of events but they not predicted it. Only in Greek translations (prophemi = predict), Jewish prophet became the oracle priest of Greek influence. Numerous interpretations of the New Testament made by evangelists such things happened "in order to be come true the words of prophet", clearly shows how influential were the authors of Greek thought.
