"Jerusalem was not founded by the Hebrew"

Jerusalem was the capital of the Jebusites, a stripe of Canaan. The city was conquered by King David (conducted approximately between 1004 and 965 BC), who established the capital there. Until then, Hebrew nomads had not had a capital. Jerusalem is among the oldest cities in the world, and when it was conquered by David, was already 2000 years old. It is named after Saalim, an ancient god of Canaan.
