"Cherubim were angels"

When it comes to the cherubim in the Old Testament, these creatures have imagined as a winged human-headed bulls, guardian of the Babylonian and Assyrian palaces. No doubt they were taken from this source - "You who throne above the cherubim", it says in Psalm 80for example, "and came down on a flying cherubim" in the Second Book of Samuel (22-11). Angels on the other hand, had no wings. Many angels depicted in the Old Testament without being recognized as such. Only in the fourth century were represented with wings.
