"Kiwi is the national fruit of New Zealand"

Kiwi fruit comes from China and is designated as Chinese gooseberry. New Zealand was still the first country that in 1940, grafted and sold the kiwi. For technical reasons related to advertising, the fruit was named after the national bird of New Zealand - Kiwi (Apteryx sp.) due to the appearance similar brown and round.
