"Apples often have worms"

Pink worms found in apples are the larvae of a butterfly - the spinning (Carpocapa pomonella). In plums other butterfly larvae are found from the same family. When apples don`t fall prematurely from the contested tree, well-fed caterpillars will come out eventually. Fallen fruits are often become prey to the real worms, such as earthworms.
