"The Threepenny Opera was written by Bertolt Brecht"

FALSE
The Threepenny Opera originated in the English musical comedy - Beggars opera -which John Gay (1685 - 1732) wrote, inspired by the idea of a friend named Jonathan Swift (1667-1745). Brecht's collaborator - Elisabeth Hauptmann (1897 - 1973) – has translated the text and created large parts of Brecht's version. It's uncertain how wide her contribution is. In addition another female author has also worked at "Brecht's operas".
